>> MESSAGE FROM DIANA

It's been beautiful here in Delaware the last few weeks, and I must admit I've been lured away from work more than once by the call of warm weather pursuits. Since today is shaping up to be another tempting day, I won't keep you long - but I will give you some resources to explore when you've got some time on your hands or are stuck someplace because of lousy weather.

Enjoy!

10 Great Fashion and Image Websites

Since I get lots of questions from readers every week wanting to know where they can find this, that, or the other thing, I thought I'd flip through my bookmarks to see which fashion and image sites I tend to visit a lot, and share some of them with you. Whether you're doing research for yourself, for clients, or for projects, you'll find a wealth of information here. In fact, I suggest you bookmark them.

Here we go:

  • Association of Image Consultants International

    http://www.aici.org

Whether you're looking for an image consultant for yourself, a speaker for your group, or a local chapter in your area, you'll probably find what you need here. They also have a good image training and resource page.

  • Cosmetic Connection

    http://www.cosmeticconnection.com

Ever wish you could get the "low down" on which skin care and makeup products might work best for you BEFORE you plunk down your hard-earned money? This is the place to find out. With their weekly ezine reviews from women of different ages, ethnicities, and skin types, you'll learn more about the world of cosmetics than you ever knew before.

  • Fabric Link

    http://www.fabriclink.com

Want to learn more about different types of fabrics? Need to know how to maintain the fabrics you have? Then this is the place to do it. A look around their "Fabric University," and you'll never look at textiles the same way again.

  • Fashion Era

    http://www.fashion-era.com

Love fashion history? Want to see how Queen Victoria influenced the world? Need to do research on what people wore in 1800? 1910? 1980? Then this is the place to find out. This comprehensive site is one of the most popular on web, with good reason: it has TONS of information!

(P.S. It's the brain child of fashion lover and fellow Clothing Chronicles subscriber, Pauline Weston Thomas).

  • First View

    http://www.firstview.com

Wish you could have a front row seat at all the top fashion shows in the world? Well, this is the next best thing. You can see all the current and many past collections from major designers all over the world. It's a great way to keep on top of the fashion industry and to learn which designers best cater to your style.

  • Hair Boutique

    http://www.hairboutique.com

Which hairstyles are best for your face shape? Need new styling ideas for your long hair? Which products should you use when you're pregnant or going gray? Hair Boutique has the answer. Be sure to try their "Interactive Style Selector" to find the right hairstyle for you (it's near the bottom of the home page).

  • Made In Italy

    http://www.made-in-italy.com

A fun site singing the many praises of Italy, this site offers advice, resources, and links to Italian clothing, food, and wine. You'll find a comprehensive list of Italian designers and design schools, as well as pertinent tidbits like the difference between European and American sizing.

  • Mode à Paris

    http://www.modeaparis.com

Want to learn about French fashion history and see when your favorite French fashion houses have their runway shows? Then this is the site for you. You can catch up on the latest from the world of French couture and learn more about your favorite French designers as well. Also has links to the top French design schools.

  • Style

    http://www.style.com

The home of W and Vogue on the web, Style.com gives you a glimpse of fashion shows, future trends, and news on people and parties. It's a fun way to bring a little glamour to your desk top.

  • Women's Wear Daily

    http://www.wwd.com

WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY chronicles all the goings-on in the world of fashion, from what's happening in the design houses to who's wearing whom on the street. While a subscription is required for the daily news, you'll find lots of other fashion resources listed here free of charge.

So there you have it. Take some time to click around these sites when you have some time, and either bookmark them or keep this issue close by for future reference. You never know when it will come in handy.

Have a great weekend!
