In This Issue: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The fashion website article I ran at the end of July: http://theclothingchronicles.com/archives/283-fashionwebsites.htm brought in so many interesting comments, including this one: "I am SO excited about the link to FirstView.com! My daughter is a model and her first season was Spring 2007. There was a show that I could never find and found the whole show on the [First View] web site!!!! "I know, stage mother, proud mother and all but it is really something else to see your child doing this and you helped to locate the one show I never could find anywhere else. "Thank you for all the great links!"
Susan Helena (You're welcome, Susan! Glad to help!) -- that I decided to list a few more. Curious as to what sites younger women are looking at these days, I asked my summer intern, Mariana Farach-Widjaja (who's studying Fashion Marketing at the Art Institute of Philadelphia), which fashion sites she frequents. Surprisingly, she goes to many of the same ones I do. Only a few were new to me.
So I've
decided to combine our lists for some great places to look whether
you're young and cutting-edge, older and looking for solutions, or
just curious about the fashion industry in general.

International
Movie Data Base Want to know who designed Uma Thurman's clothes for the "Kill Bill" movies or how many Oscars™ Edith Head won in her career? This site has the answers - plus a WHOLE lot more. Just type in the name of the movie, the actress, the costume designer, or whatever, and you'll learn everything you want to know. Awesome resource!
The New
York Times Fashion & Style Section With a comprehensive lifestyle channel including wine, gardening, and more, the fashion and style section contains the latest reports on runway shows, new upcoming designers, and an assortment of other fashion goodies. Definitely worth a look - and you don't even need a subscription!
Japanese Streets An incredible window into another culture of fashion, Japanese Streets shows how Japanese youth interpret style and trends. Many current designers are inspired by the unique styles worn on the streets of Japan -- and you may be, too, once you have a look.
Too Fat For Fashion In this "Bridget Jones meets Carrie Bradshaw" blog, three twenty-something fashion industry writers, two in New York, one in London, talk about their latest fashion obsessions and how to apply them to the plus-size body. The Brit, pen name "Baggy Lettuce," is especially amusing.
More Celebrating women who are age 40+, the More website, like More Magazine, offers great tips on health, style, and success for women "of a certain age." Lots of good, sound information.

of Image Consultants International Want a personal consultation with an image consultant? Looking for a consultant to speak at your next meeting? Thinking about becoming an image consultant yourself? This site can help.
Fashion
Week Daily A fun site with a little more of the "inside scoop" on designers' personal lives, Fashion Week Daily is a great source for runway reports and trends. It also offers a look at the parties celebrities are attending and what they are wearing.
Women's
Wear Daily A "must see" site for anyone interested in the industry aspect of fashion, WWD has tons of resources and the latest news on current trends, designers, events, etc. It's an excellent resource for anyone looking for more than just styles.
Apparel Search This comprehensive database of fashion-related news, articles, and resources is updated on a regular basis and features a broad selection of information on everything from textiles and apparel to trade shows and employment. It's a good source for anyone involved in the fashion industry.
Fashion Net A sleek, chic site, Fashion net has tons of information, including designer bios, where to find your favorite labels online, fashion magazines, and more. It has lots of graphics and loads slowly, but if you have a little patience, you'll find all sorts of fashion-related things.
So there you have it. Take some time to click around to these sites when you have some time, and either bookmark them or keep this list handy for future reference. You never know when these sites will come in handy. ************** Until next time,
