fuss. I like them too because they "pack a lot of punch"
without making things too complicated.

How to Look
Younger and Thinner Overnight
What if you
could magically "turn back the hands of time" on yourself
and walk out the door tomorrow morning looking younger and thinner
than you do today? What if you could find some "magic pill"
that would somehow transform you into a new and improved version of
yourself -- without spending a lot of time or money?
Actually, you
can - and it's easier than you think.
Here's the
secret: proper fit.
Yes, I know
we've talked about proper fit in the past. But I keep noticing just
how many women out there haven't gotten the message. In their quest
to get out the door in the morning, they're throwing on "any old
thing" - and doing themselves a HUGE disservice by making
themselves look older and heavier than they are.
It doesn't
have to be that way.
With just a
few simple tricks, you can use your clothing to visually erase years
and pounds - and enjoy all the attention that goes along with that.
Here are just
a few of the ways:
Wear
Properly Fitting Undergarments
"I will
not wear a bra," an acquaintance defiantly declared one time.
"They're a sign of feminine oppression."
I don't know
about that, but I do know a sign that causes feminine DEPRESSION: the
sight of once-perky C-cups now keeping company with your waistline.
Generally,
young women tend to have high, firm breasts while older women - after
babies and gravity take their toll - tend to have low, sagging
breasts. Want to look younger? Get a good bra that puts your bustline
around bicep level, or midway between your shoulders and elbow.
|
The band
should fit snuggly around your back without binding or riding up, the
cups should fit close against your skin without gaping or running
over, and straps should fit comfortably on your shoulders without
digging in or slipping off.
If your bra
doesn't do that, seek the services of a professional fitter. You can
find them at some department stores or at specialty lingerie shops. |

Bras caters
to large
breasts
and full figures. |
Underpants
should also fit comfortably against your skin without digging in,
binding, or causing lumps. Thong, brief, and boy short styles show
the least under clothes, and neutral and skin toned colors offer the
most versatility.
Wear
Clothes that Fit
|
Duh! It's a
simple concept, yet one glance around a crowd will show just how few
people get this simple rule. The other day I saw one woman wearing
pants so tight she looked like a stuffed sausage, while her friend
was in a t-shirt so large, she looked like she was playing dress up.
Clothes that are too small make you look bigger, and big, shapeless
clothes make you look like a linebacker. Neither is very flattering. |
|
To look pulled
together, your clothes should drape smoothly without binding,
pinching, or gaping. You should not have to constantly re-adjust
things when you stand or sit, nor should pieces ride up or pull
strangely as you walk.

complete guide to great fit here:

Wear Pieces
that Accentuate the Positive
|
Take stock of
what you like about yourself, makes note of what you don't like, and
strive to play up your assets while downplaying your liabilities.
For example,
wrap styles minimize large busts and large tummies while breast
pockets can make small busts seem larger. Have wide hips? Put them in
dark colors and drawn attention to your face with bright tops or
eye-catching necklaces. Have great legs? Pull attention there with
great shoes, interesting hosiery, or shorter skirts. |

Wrap styles
minimize and flatter |
In short,
THINK before you dress. Start with great undergarments and then build
outward with clothes that fit and flatter. Don't pour yourself into
clothes that are too small or hide beneath layers of clothes that are
too big. Instead, strive for proper fit with details that flatter and
compliment your body. It isn't hard. All you have to do is practice
and with just a little time and effort, you can look great whatever
your age, shape, size, or budget.
